Lab practice / Note 06
Handling begins with the paperwork.
Understand why peptide handling starts with material-specific documentation, safety data sheets, and approved laboratory procedures.
Peptide solubility and stability are material-dependent. A solvent suitable for one sequence may not suit another, and a solvent must also be compatible with the intended laboratory assay.
Review before beginning.
- Consult the material’s safety data sheet and lot documentation.
- Check the manufacturer’s storage and handling instructions.
- Use approved laboratory procedures and required protective measures.
- Record preparation details and any changes in sample condition.
There is no universal preparation recipe here. Dry and dissolved materials can have different handling requirements.
Use material-specific information and an approved procedure, rather than assumptions based on the word “peptide.”
